Satgas Operasi Damai Cartenz arbitrarily arrested a man with the initials JN in Karang Senang SP3 Village, Kuala Kencana, Mimika, Papua Tengah Province, 1 February 2026. The police have accused JN of being a member of the Papua Intelligence Service (PIS), which is considered part of the armed group TNPNPB. The police have accused him of spreading propaganda and inciting the residents of Mimika.

On 27 August 2026, the Timika District Court found Jeki guilty of “spreading false news that caused unrest” and sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment, in line with the prosecutor’s request.
