Personnel from the Keerom Police and the Cartenz Peace Task Force arrested a West Papuan, Maam Taplo, on 22 November 2025, in the Arso Swakarsa area, Keerom Regency. According to the police, Maam was suspected of being involved in the murder of a health worker in Kiwirok, Pegunungan Bintang, in September 2021.
Police also accuse Maam of involvement in a number of violent acts with armed groups.
