Members of the Papua Police arrested the Head of Wusi Village, Terius Labie, for allegedly providing assistance to armed groups by giving money worth Rp150 million.
During the trial at the district court, the prosecutor asked for the defendant to be sentenced to 6 years in prison. On 15 December 2022, the panel of judges sentenced the defendant to 3 years in prison.
Objecting, the prosecutor appealed the decision. The judges at the Jayapura Court of Appeal on 16 February 2023 decided that the defendant should be sentenced to 6 years in prison.
