It was reported that a number of police (in uniform and civilian clothes) arrested five students in Kampkey Abepura, Jayapura City, 8 February 2025. The arrests were made at a boarding house at 5pm local time.
The five students were Nathan Pigai, Esau Kogoya, Frengky Anouw, Fransiskus Petege, and Yosua Mote.
They were released on February 11, 2025, injured, allegedly as a result of torture during interrogation.
