The Cartenz Peace Task Force reportedly arrested a person allegedly affiliated with an armed group, Fabianus Sani, on Tuesday, 7 June 2022. Sani is suspected of involvement in the assault of a Quran teacher in Sugapa, Intan Jaya Regency, on 18 April 2021.

For this case, he was found guilty and sentenced to four years and six months in prison, six months longer than the prosecutor's request. Separately, he was also tried for another case, the alleged possession of ten rounds of ammunition that he purchased from a TNI personnel via an intermediary. In relation to this, he was sentenced to one year and six months in prison.

With the conditional release policy granted to prisoners who have served two-thirds of their sentence, Sani should have been released in early June 2025, or even earlier if he had previously received several remissions.
