Police officers arrested Yohanes Kramandondo and Vridolin Petrus Kramandondo at their home in Mamur village. They were both accused of being involved in the burning of the Kramongmongga school and district office as well as the murder of the district head.
In the court of first instance, the public prosecutor demanded that the defendant be convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. On 1 August 2024, the Fakfak District Court Panel of Judges sentenced the defendant to 1 year and 2 months.
The prosecutor appealed the decision. On 7 October 2024, the Manokwari High Court increased the defendant's sentence to 1 year and 6 months. The prosecutor rejected the decision and filed another appeal to the Supreme Court. On 11 February 2025, a panel of Supreme Court judges rejected the prosecutor's appeal.
