Operasi Damai Cartenz and the Yahukimo Police arrested a young man named Iron Heluka in Dekai, Yahukimo, on 28 November 2025. The police accused Iron of being a member of an armed group, of being involved in the burning of food stalls, and of a number of other criminal cases. Two people fled when Iron was arrested.

A spokesperson for the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) denied that Iron was a member of the TPNPB. According to him, Iron was a student at the University of Cenderawasih (Uncen) Yahukimo Branch.

On 24 June 2026, the Wamena District Court found Iron Heluka guilty of arson endangering public safety and sentenced him to 10 months’ imprisonment.
