Navy personnel arrested a man with the initials PB on 3 August 2024. PB, allegedly a TPNPB spy who was conducting espionage activities, was arrested in Mapia Islands, Supiori Regency, then taken to Biak Naval Base.

The soldiers who arrested PB consisted of the Marine Task Force, Korem 173/PVB Task Force, and Babinsa Kodim 1708/Biak. They claimed to have confiscated hundreds of items of evidence, including TPNPB uniform, TPNPB membership card, flag, and OPM membership documents.

On 21 October 2024, it was reported that PB had been released and returned to his family in Supiori Regency. PB's release came after a report from the family that PB had a mental disorder. The police noticed his odd behaviour and brought in a team from Abepura Mental Hospital to examine his mental condition. The result of the examination stated that PB was an outpatient with chronic mental illness.
