Joint TNI and Polri personnel reportedly arbitrarily arrested eight civilians in Yahukimo, Papua Pegunungan Province, in the dawn hours of 11 July 2025. It was later revealed that they were arrested for alleged involvement in the attack and murder of teachers and health workers in Anggruk, Yahukimo, last March.

After being detained for three days, six of them (Sepi Heluka, Alfon Payage, Veri Pahabol, Tertius Kabak, Vael Silak, JS) were released. The other two (Nander Sobolim and Velis Silak) remain in detention, but as of the end of August there has been no further news.

On 14 October 2025, the police handed over the case file to the Wamena District Attorney's Office. In early December, the case was registered at the Wamena District Court. He was charged with assaulting a migrant on 17 June 2025, not attacking teachers and health workers in Anggruk as was the initial reason for his arrest.
