- Additional description
Military personnel in plain clothes reportedly arrested two Yahukimo residents, Ferly Wesabla and RKM, in Kali Biru, Jalan Kurima, Yahukimo. The two men were then taken to Yahukimo Police Station. The marines who arrested them are said to have taken part in their interrogation.
The arrest was carried out without a warrant. Through physical and psychological abuse, Ferly and RKM were forced to admit involvement in the conflict and killings in Yahukimo. Both men sustained injuries.
RKM was released but is required to report to the police twice a week. Ferly, however, remains in custody as he had previously escaped from Wamena Prison in connection with a case believed to have been fabricated.
