Personel Polda Papua dan Polres Puncak menangkap Yogor Telenggen di Distrik Mulia, Kabupaten Puncak Jaya, pada Sabtu, 12 Mei 2018. Ia ditangkap setelah melarikan diri dari Lapas Abepura pada 8 Januari 2016.

It was later discovered that Yogor was detained at Mako Brimob Polda West Papua on new charges of shooting and theft of weapons in Sinak Market, Puncak Regency, 12 February 2018. This case was tried at the Manokwari District Court for security reasons. In this case, on 22 May 2019, all charges and indictments against him were deemed null and void by the judges. Prosecutors appealed the decision but, on 17 September 2019, the Manokwari High Court upheld the Manokwari District Court's decision. Yogor transferred to Gunung Sari Prison, Makassar, on 25 May 2020, to serve his sentence for the attack on Pirime Police Station.
