Police personnel arrested Praedy Wanimbo in Maki District, Lanny Jaya Regency, on Thursday 15 May 2025, at 11.44 local time. He was arrested for allegedly controlling/possessing firearms.

On 23 July 2025, the case was registered at the Wamena District Court under number 50/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Wmn. On 16 October 2025, the panel of judges found Praedy guilty and sentenced him to two years and six months in prison, six months less than the prosecutor had demanded.
