Satgas Damai Cartenz arrested Epson Nirigi in the Mimika area for allegedly being part of an armed group under the command of Egianus Kogoya.

As of the end of March 2024, Nirigi was still in the custody of the public prosecutor.

His trial only began on 22 May 2024.

Based on police investigations, Epson was allegedly involved in supplying weapons and ammunition to TPNPB and was also suspected of being involved in a number of criminal acts.

However, in court, the case against him was only about his involvement in supplying ammunition.

On 2nd July 2024, the prosecutor demanded that the defendant be sentenced to 3 years in prison.

On 9 July 2024, the judges of the Wamena District Court found Epson guilty and sentenced him to 2 years in prison.

With the conditional release policy granted to prisoners who have served two-thirds of their sentence, this prisoner should have been released in mid-June 2025, or even earlier if he had previously received several remissions.
