- Additional description
Police personnel arrested Yogor Telenggen on 10 March 2013 for his alleged involvement in the attack on Pirime Police Station on 27 November 2012, which killed three policemen.
During the trial, the public prosecutor asked the panel of judges at the Wamena District Court to find Yogor guilty and sentence him to life imprisonment. The Wamena District Court, on 4 March 2014, found Yogor guilty and sentenced him to 10 years in prison (No.: 64/Pid.B/2013/PN.Wmn).
The public prosecutor appealed to the Jayapura High Court. The Panel of Judges of the Jayapura High Court, on 16 June 2014, upheld the previous court's verdict while increasing the sentence to life imprisonment.
Yogor escaped from Abepura Prison on 8 January 2016, but was re-arrested on 12 May 2018 in Mulia District, Puncak Jaya Regency. His whereabouts were unknown for almost a month after the arrest. The family claimed they did not receive an arrest warrant from the police.
It was later discovered that Yogor was detained at Mako Brimob Polda West Papua on new charges of shooting and theft of weapons in Sinak Market, Puncak Regency, 12 February 2018. This case was tried at the Manokwari District Court for security reasons. In this case Yogor was acquitted but transferred to Gunung Sari Prison, Makassar, on 25 May 2020, to serve his sentence for the attack on Pirime Police Station.
