Accompanied by the LP3BH team, Fakfak Regional Pastor Team Leader, and Elsham Papua Contact Post Coordinator, Alexander Kramandondo handed himself in to Fakfak Police. Alexander was not on the DPO list and claimed to be in his garden when the incident broke out, but he was still arrested and tried.
In the court of first instance, the public prosecutor demanded that the defendant be convicted and sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison. On 1 August 2024, the Fakfak District Court Panel of Judges sentenced the defendant to 1 year and 3 months.
The defendant and prosecutor appealed the decision. On 7 October 2024, the Manokwari High Court increased the defendant's sentence to 1 year and 6 months, in accordance with the demands of the public prosecutor.
