Members of Satgas Damai Cartenz have reportedly arrested a suspected TPNPB member named AK alias Artis in Ilaga District, Puncak Regency.
According to the police, they managed to secure a number of evidence such as one small bag, three beaded necklaces, one bottle of drink, one Oppo mobile phone, one iron necklace, and one yellow toy necklace.
AK is suspected of being involved in the arson of residents' houses and PT Unggul's basecamp on Tuesday (23/05/2023) and the burning of the SMA Negeri 1 Ilaga school building on Thursday (17/8/2023).
However, the case charged in court was the burning of the communication network tower of PT Telkom and the Communication and Information Office of Puncak Regency (15 September 2023), in which Kogoya was allegedly involved.
At trial, the prosecutors demanded that Ardinus Kogoya be sentenced to 2 years in prison. On 14 March 2024, a panel of district court judges found Kogoya guilty and sentenced him to 2 years in prison.
Kogoya and his lawyers appealed to the Jayapura High Court. However, on 2 May 2024, the Jayapura High Court upheld the district court's decision and increased the sentence to 3 years in prison.
On 2 June 2025, Ardnus reportedly escaped from Nabire Prison with 19 other prisoners, 11 of whom including Ardinus were said to be affiliated with armed groups.
