Kelkianus Giban was arrested together with his brother Kelki Giban. According to the police, the arrest of Kelkianus Giban alias Kelkianus Balingga was made after the police received information from KTH who was arrested the previous week.

Kelkianus Giban was accused by the police of being involved in a number of crimes in Yahukimo, including being involved in the murder of TNI personnel Pratu Eka Johan Kaeze, the shooting of Brimob members at Km 7 Dekai, and the murder of civilians.

During the trial, the prosecutor demanded that Kelkianus Giban be sentenced to 12 years in prison.
