Victor Yeimo is one of the leaders of KNPB and has conducted many campaigns to unreavel human rights violations at local, national and international level. He is now a suspect of treason among a dozen other charges and currently facing trial in Jayapura District Court, after being on the police's wanted list in the aftermath of various riots during the anti-racism protests in August 2019. Mr. Yeimo was hospitalised on 30 August 2021 at Jayapura General Hospital (RSUD Jayapura) for a lung and gallbladder infection. He is currently continuing to receive care as an outpatient for chronic tuberculosis disease. His first trial took place on 20 January 2022 with the reading of indictement. He did not appear in court because of his illness. The trial continued on 21 February for the indictment hearing. The Prosecutors requested the Judges to reinstate his detention. Yeimo's detention term was suspended for his hospital treatment in August 2021. On 25 February the defence counsel presented an exception for Yeimo's detention in Court. The following exception hearing was scheduled for 25 March but it was postponed due to his health condition. Prosecutors demanded 3 years
