- Additional description
Yalimo police officers arrested AN, a civil servant, in Elelim District, Yalimo. AN was reportedly caught with 615 rounds of ammunition and a homemade firearm.
The arrest of AN was developed by the police by finding out who his donors were. One who was later revealed and arrested was Terius Labie, a village chief in Nduga.
During the trial, the prosecutor demanded that the defendant be sentenced to 6 years in prison.
With the conditional release policy granted to prisoners who have served two-thirds of their sentence, the prisoner in question should have been released from prison at the end of October 2025, or even earlier if he received several remissions.
