Additional description

Sorong City police personnel and Brimob units forcibly dispersed protests against the transfer of four NFRPB political prisoners from Sorong to Makassar, South Sulawesi. The police also arrested activists, families of political prisoners, and residents who happened to be passing by the protest site on 27 August 2025.

Those arrested were released in three waves. The first fifteen were released on 29 August, followed by three on 30 August, and finally five on 1 September.
