Satgas Damai Cartenz arrested two individuals suspected of being members of an armed group involved in an attack and the theft of weapons at Mile 50, Tembagapura, Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province, on 11 February 2026. The first was Nis Kogoya, who was arrested on 17 February 2025 at SP 3 Timika, Mimika Regency. The second is Kalimak Wanimbo, alias Lalam Wanimbo, arrested on 5 March 2026, in Ilaga, Puncak Regency.
Kalimak is accused of acting as an intermediary who connected the victims with the perpetrators so that they could hitch a ride in an Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) vehicle to the Tembagapura area. The perpetrators are said to have attacked and robbed TNI personnel at Mile 50, resulting in the deaths of one soldier and one civilian, and leaving another soldier seriously injured.
Nis is accused of providing the vehicle used by Jeki Murib and his group.
