Satgas Damai Cartenz arrested an alleged TPNPB member, Alenus Tabuni, in Puncak Regency, Central Papua Province, Sunday (18/2/2024).

The police stated that Tabuni is a former member of the Goliath Tabuni group and has now joined the Numbuk Telenggen group. Tabuni is allegedly involved in a number of cases of violence, murder, assault, shooting and arson, all of which occurred in 2021.

As of the end of March 2024, Tabuni was still detained by the public prosecutor.

His trial only began on 15 May 2024. The only case charged in court was the arson of the PT Unggul Mitra Pratama Inteindo base camp.

For this case, the prosecutor demanded that the defendant be sentenced to 6 years in prison.

On 2 June 2025, Alenus reportedly escaped from Nabire Prison with 19 other prisoners, 11 of whom including Alenus were said to be affiliated with armed groups.
