The six youths were Eko Ussu, Alesa Busup, Usan Ossu, Hengki Ossu, Asam Ossu, and Timeks Busop. They were arrested in the morning and taken to the Marine post near Nop Goliath Airport while on their way to Dekai City, accused of being part of an armed group.
The six young men were interrogated at the Marine post. Military personnel reportedly tortured and forced three of them to confess to being members of the TPNPB. They were released the following afternoon after their families, community leaders and church representatives visited the Yahukimo Police Headquarters and protested the arrests.
