Security officers at Wamena Airport, Jayawijaya, arrested Menius Pahabol for allegedly carrying two rounds of ammunition in his bag while boarding on 8 October 2024. Menius was then prosecuted by the local police.

On 22 January 2025, his case was registered at the Wamena District Court. On 11 February 2025, the panel of judges found him guilty and sentenced him to 10 months in prison. Previously, the prosecutor had requested that Menius be sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison.
