Papua police officers arrested three people at Sentani Airport, Jayapura Regency, on 28 March 2026. The three individuals were Kenias Payage, Atera Payage and Nerry Heluka. They were about to travel to Wamena by plane.
Initially, they were taken to the KP3 police station at Sentani Airport and then separated. Kenias was taken to Sentani Kota Police Station and subsequently released after questioning. Similarly, Atera was released after no evidence was found to suggest he was involved in criminal activity. Meanwhile, Nerry Heluka was detained and taken to the Papua Regional Police Headquarters. Police reportedly interrogated and coerced Nerry into admitting that he was a member of the TPNPB.
