Jayapura police dispersed a group of KNPB members and arrested six of them as they were on their way to attend a service commemorating the 11th anniversary of the ULMWP on 6 December 2025. The incident took place at BTN Matoa Field, the gathering point for the activists, from where they planned to walk to the event location at STAKIN GIDI, Sentani, Jayapura.

After pressure from a number of parties, the police released the six KNPB activists. They were reportedly beaten or subjected to other inhumane treatment during the dispersal and arrest.
