Eight activists from the Indonesian People's Front for West Papua and the Papua Student Alliance were arrested by police in Ternate City, North Maluku, on Thursday (1/12/2022), during a protest to commemorate the Morning Star flag raising at the Nieuw Guinea Raad (NGR) office in Holandia on 1 December 1961. The eight activists were taken to the Ternate Resort Police Headquarters and questioned there.
