Additional description

Police officers arrested Leas Mirin for his involvement in a riot during a demonstration against special autonomy in Yahukimo on 15 March 2022.

Mirin was then tried for two separate cases. The first case was case number 23/Pid.B/2022/PN Wmn, a case of arson. For this case the prosecutor demanded that he be sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison. In the second case, 28/Pid.B/2022/PN Wmn, he and Fetty Kobak were charged with committing an act of violence that caused injury to another person. For this, the prosecutor sought a sentence of 1 year and 6 months imprisonment.

Although the sentence for this case has been served, Mirin is still in jail for another charge.
