Additional description

Police officers reportedly arrested an armed group member, Marenus Tabuni. He was taken by police to Timika for further questioning on 12 December 2024. The police claimed that Marenus was involved in a number of criminal cases such as the burning of PT MTT and the shooting of Antonius Padang.

On 13 March 2025, his case was registered at Nabire District Court.

On 2 June 2025, Marenus reportedly escaped from Nabire Prison with 19 other prisoners, 11 of whom including Marenus were said to be affiliated with armed groups.
