Joint security forces arrested a young man named Peranus Balingga, in Wam Village, Sumo District, Yahukimo Regency, 28 June 2025, at four in the morning. He was arrested when police and soldiers conducted a raid in the village. The officers reportedly entered people's houses without permission and intimidated them.

At Yahukimo Police Station, Perinus was interrogated and tortured. He was hit with gun butts, batons, and kicked with boots. He was asked about the whereabouts of TPNPB members in Yahukimo.

The next morning he was released with injuries and a swollen back.
