Joint security forces (TNI-Polri) forcibly dispersed KNPB Lapago demonstrations in Jayawijaya Regency, Mountainous Papua Province, 15 August 2024. The demonstrations were held to commemorate the 1962 New York Agreement.

In addition to dispersing the demonstrations, security forces also arrested dozens of activists and confiscated a number of items such as motorbikes, mobile phones, and money. As a result of the violent dispersal, at least 12 demonstrators were injured.
