Nabire police reportedly intimidated and detained five teenagers who wanted to submit a demo notification letter to the police at Nabire Barat police station on 29 September 2024. The teenagers, who are members of the Papuan Student Solidarity, wanted to hold a demonstration to commemorate the 1962 Rome Treaty the following day. However, the police detained and interrogated them. After being at the police station for almost three hours, the students were released at 1am.
