On 18 February 2026, joint TNI-Polri forces carried out an arbitrary sweep, arresting 17 civilians in Intan Jaya. TNI-Polri 'informants' informed every military posts that the residents of Holomama Village were members of West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB). Ironically, TNI personnel were actually already familiar with some of the young men but proceeded with the arrests anyway, ordering them to line up on their knees with their hands raised and march towards the TNI post at Waitigi. There, the TNI ordered into a pond and interrogated the for four hours. Subsequently, following pressure and negotiations from the mothers and other villagers, the 17 individuals were released.
