RY (16) is a junior high school student who was arrested on 28th of September 2021 in connection with the attack at the District Military Post in Kisor. RY was transfered to Makasar in the custody of South Sulawesi District Police along with Amos Ky, Maikel Yaam, Agustinus Yaam, MS and YW on 29th of December. The transfer was done without informing their lawyers and families leaving RY along with MS and YW no means to having family accompaniment.

The Sorong Six's cases were heard at Makasar District Court with legal assistance from LBH Kaki Abu and LBH Makassar.

On On 27th and 28th of March three defendants Amos Ky, RY and Maikel Yaam were visited by the police investigators during the course of the trial. The legal counsel later found out that the defendants were asked to change their testimony/confession with the promise that they will be returned to Papua if they did so. During trial on the next day, the three defendants confessed that they are guilty of the charges which cam as a surprise to the defendants legal counsel.

On 31 May 2022 RY, Maikel Yaam and Amos Ky were sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
