Joint military forces arbitrarily arrested 7 protesters from Forum Independen Mahasiswa West Papua (FIM-WP) on 7 April 2025. One of them was Freedom Kobogau.

FIM WP held an action with the theme ‘Tutup PT Freeport Sebagai Simbol Kapitalisme di Tanah Papua & Berikan Hak penentuan Nasib Sendiri Bagi Bangsa Papua" or "Close PT Freeport as a Symbol of Capitalism in the Land of Papua & Give the Right of Self-Determination to the Papuan Nation", but was dispersed and there were forced arrests of the protesters. They were taken to Nabire Police Station and released at 3pm West Papua Time.
