On 29 July 2022, Jayapura City Police and Papua Police arrested two activists in charge of the action against the revision of the Special Autonomy Law and DOB, before the action was held. The night before the action, the two activists moved to Mama Papua Market to monitor the situation at the action point. When they arrived at the market area at 3.30am, police arrested and took the two activists to Jayapura City Police headquarters. At the police station, investigators interviewed them about their activities at the market. The two activists, who were accompanied by LBH Papua, were released in the afternoon of the same day. As a result of the arrests, the two activists were unable to coordinate the action, although the action was still able to take place.
