Indonesian military personnel reportedly arrested two civilians at the Ongolo Military Post in Yahukimo Regency on 13 June 2025. The two men, OE and Sisi Yelemaken, were released three days later. They were arrested without a warrant and reportedly subjected to physical torture while in detention.

Around the time of the incident, there were reports of a shootout between joint Indonesian security forces and the TPNB, killing a resident in Anali Village, Yeleas Village, Tangma District.
