Indonesian military personnel intercepted and arrested two Papuan youths, Nopianus Nabelau and Rudi Sani, in Mamba Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, 14 September 2024.

They were reportedly stopped at 9am while travelling to Titigi Village. Military personnel found photos and videos released by TPNPB on Nopianus' mobile phone, and took them both to a military post. Nopianus was reportedly tortured, causing injuries to his face and body.

At 5pm, Rudi was released while Nopianus remained in detention. Until 30 September 2024, Nopianus was still detained. There has been no further news about him.
