Joint security forces conducted a sweep after the Brimob post in Dekai, Yahukimo, was allegedly attacked by armed groups. From the sweep, the authorities arrested a man with the initials AS at Pasar Lama, Yahukimo.

AS's arrest led to a raid by security forces on the armed group's headquarters the following day that killed two members of the armed group and left a policeman wounded by gunfire.

AS was reportedly detained at Yahukimo Police Station but there is no further news about what happened to him.
