NG is one of the 8 demonstrators who were arrested in Nabire District, on 31 April 2022. The Nabire demonstrations were held in order to reject the formation of new provinces in Papua province. News report suggested that this particular protest turned into riot as one demonstrator 'tried to attack police officers'. The police officers proceeded to arrest the person at which point the other protestors reacted by throwing rocks at the police. At least 8 people were reportedly arrested by the police including MK, YG, SK, YD, NG, YK, YG and AG. There is no further report as to whether they are still detained.
