Yahukimo police personnel reportedly arbitrarily arrested two West Papuans in Dekai District, Yahukimo, on the evening of 9 December 2025. The two individuals were Natan Matuan and Selis Pahabol.

According to witnesses, the two were asked by someone to buy alcoholic beverages at a kiosk. While waiting for their order to be prepared, they were ambushed by several police officers and taken to the Yahukimo Police Station.

At the police station, they were interrogated while being tortured. Their hands and feet were tied, and their bodies were beaten.

Selis was released the following evening, 10 December 2025. Natan, however, is still being interrogated and detained.
