Nabire police officers allegedly arbitrarily arrested Ken Boga at Karang Market, Nabire, 3 September 2024, in the afternoon. Boga was arrested because he was allegedly involved in the persecution that caused the death of a security guard named Supriyono at the Security Post of CV Kurnia Jasa Mandiri, Jalan Poros Samabusa, Nabire Regency, 23 August 2024.

Boga's arrest and whereabouts were covered up by the police, making it difficult for family and friends to get a chance to see his condition.

During his detention, Boga claimed to have been abused by a number of police officers. He was forced to confess.

Apart from Boga, the police also arrested two other men, Agustinus Tagi and Yeremias Magai.

According to the family through their lawyer, the three were arrested and tortured to confess. The three of them were in another district about 100 kilometres away from the murder scene at the time of the incident. In his statement to the Magai family, the police chief claimed to have been pressurised by Supriyono's brother, who is a senior officer at the Cenderawasih Military Command.
