- Additional description
Indonesian marines reportedly arrested two young men, Yuni Suhun and Emianus Molama, at a marine checkpoint in Kokamo Village, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, on 23 March 2026. The two KNPB activists were on their way to the river to mine for gold when they were intercepted and arrested after their mobile phones were searched and videos related to the KNPB were found.
It was reported that the two young men were subjected to torture whilst at the military post. Their eyes were blindfolded, their hands were tied, and their heads were struck with blunt objects.
Both were released on the afternoon of 25 March after being forced to kiss the flag and pledge allegiance to Indonesia.
