Additional description

Police personnel in Jayapura City forcibly dispersed a demonstration in Lingkaran Abepura, Jayapura City, on 15 October 2025, and arrested five students participating in the demonstration. The students were Simon Pekei, Jefri Tibul, Yoris Alwolmabin, Rupi Wonda, and Reben Kum.

The demonstration, titled ‘Investment Emergency and Militarism in Papua’ and organised by the Alliance of Students and Youth Concerned with Indigenous Land in Papua, ended in chaos.

The five students were released the following day after being accompanied by the Papua Legal Aid Foundation.
