There are strong suspicions of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) involvement in the death of Ermin Dabiye (21), a student from Kenyam, Nduga Regency, who was found dead on 16 December 2025. According to reports, which have been confirmed by witnesses, the victim was last seen alive whilst travelling alone towards the Kenyam River route and the plantation/mining area at 11 am. At 4 pm, the victim’s body was found at a location far from where he was last seen, namely in Krepkuri District. The day, date and location of the incident also coincide with reports from local residents of low-altitude helicopter operations along the river corridor from morning until night, as well as the presence of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) posts in the vicinity of the victim’s final known whereabouts. The victim’s body was recovered at 5 pm local time and, according to the family’s initial examination, it was found that the victim had sustained two gunshot wounds to the head and severe swelling, making the victim difficult to identify at first.
